Through a student-centered and developmental approach, the Director promotes accountability, integrity, personal responsibility, and community well-being while advancing the mission and values of Mount St. Mary's University.
The Director provides leadership for the day-to-day operations of the Student Conduct Office and oversees a fair, educational, and inclusive conduct process grounded in student learning, restorative practices, and ethical decision making. As the University's primary hearing officer, the Director is responsible for the administration of the Student Code of Conduct, management of complex conduct cases, and the development and oversight of a campus conduct board adjudication process.

Leveraging assessment, data-informed decision making, and collaborative partnerships, the Director helps foster a safe, inclusive, and thriving campus community while supporting the holistic growth and development of students.

- Establish, implement, and oversee a student conduct board, including recruitment, training, supervision, and ongoing development of board members.
- Facilitate the ongoing review, revision, and implementation of the Student Code of Conduct.
Collaboration & Community Engagement
- Partner with Residence Life, Housing, and Public Safety to identify behavioral trends, develop preventative strategies, and implement coordinated interventions.
- Collaborate with campus partners to review and respond to reports related to student concerns, safety hazards, and potential violations of university policies.
- Work together with faculty, staff, and campus partners to implement individual and community-based solutions.
- Work in partnership with Residence Life and Housing to train Resident Assistants to respond to behavioral concerns, address community-level issues, accurately document incidents, and support residential student populations.

- Design and implement learning-focused sanctioning and intervention strategies that support student growth, accountability, and personal development.
- Support education, training, and change management efforts related to student conduct for campus stakeholders.
- Assist with alcohol and other drug education and prevention initiatives in collaboration with campus partners.
- Serve as a resource and advocate for students, faculty, and staff navigating student conduct concerns.

- Collect, analyze, and report student conduct data to identify trends, emerging concerns, and opportunities for proactive intervention.
- Utilize conduct and behavioral data to inform prevention efforts, policy development, and student support strategies.
- Contribute to student retention and success efforts through data-informed practices, coordinated care strategies, and early intervention initiatives.
- Develop and maintain assessment measures related to student conduct outcomes, student learning, and community standards education.
- Prepare annual and semester reports highlighting conduct trends, educational outcomes, sanction effectiveness, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Partner with campus stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of conduct processes, educational interventions, and prevention efforts.
- Collaborate with Student Life leadership to support divisional assessment goals and institutional effectiveness initiatives.
- Research emerging trends, best practices, and legal developments in student conduct and community standards to support continuous improvement and innovation.

- Work closely with Public Safety to ensure compliance with the Clery Act requirements for campus safety initiatives and required training for students, faculty, and staff.
- Serve as both a Campus Security Authority and Mandatory Reporter.
- Support the implementation and management of student conduct and student success technology platforms.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Student Life.
