Job description

We are a well established and fast growing Italian wine and spirits importer seeking an enthusiastic and driven wine and spirits professional to sell our portfolio of quality driven Italian wines and spirits in Brooklyn. We have been importing Italian wines for more than 30 years and Italian spirits for the last 10 years. We are based in CA, we sell nationally, and we recently opened up shop in NY with a stellar portfolio of 32 wines and spirits producers from nearly every region of Italy. Prospecting for new customers will be an important part of the job. While prior sales experience is a plus, it is not required as we are willing to train the right person. We are looking for a qualified candidate who lives in the territory and has an in-depth understanding and connection to the community and businesses. All candidates must be organized, detail oriented, highly motivated, and have extensive experience tasting wine and spirits with a particularly broad knowledge of Italian wine and spirits. Bartending experience a plus! Continuing wine and spirits education will happen on the job and on our annual trip to visit our producers in Italy.
To apply, please attach your resume and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience in the wine, spirits & food industry. Be sure to include why you are interested in a sales position, why you think you would succeed in this role, and also tell us about an Italian wine or spirit you've had recently that you were particularly excited about.
We offer a competitive salary (with yearly salary review and bonus potential based on performance) and expense stipend as well as a benefits package that includes paid holidays, vacation, health insurance, and a 401k.
Candidates must be able to lift up to 40lbs. A valid NY driver's license, clean driving record, and a car would be useful but are not strictly necessary.
Please, no phone calls.
