Job description

Le Jardin Academy is looking for a Food Services Prep Assistant (On-Call). Primary responsibilities include preparation of food, upholding food sanitation standards and serving food and beverage in a timely and courteous manner. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated customer service excellence, basic math ability to accurately count and handle money, food prep and cooking experience (preferred), experience relevant to similar facility or school operation (preferred), and experience in a team-oriented environment. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. No phone calls, please. Hourly pay rate: $18.00 per hour.

Job Scope

The Food Services Prep Assistant performs various functions related to the operation of the concession stand. Primary responsibilities include preparation of food, upholding food sanitation standards and serving food and beverage in a timely and courteous manner.

Job Functions

  • Maintain safe working conditions and sanitary work area.

  • Maintain accurate cash handling procedures at all times.

  • Upholding quality and food sanitation standards as required by Concession Manager.

  • Preparation of food and beverages.

  • Wash dishes

  • Cleaning of kitchen

  • Serving students in both buffet and concession window

  • Take orders and ring in total

  • Work cash register

  • Additional duties as needed


Qualifications and Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

  • Demonstrated customer service excellence.

  • Basic math ability to accurately count and handle money

  • Food prep experience (preferred)

  • Experience relevant to similar facility or school operation (preferred).

  • Experience in a team-oriented environment.


Skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

  • Able to communicate with students, parents and staff in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Able to complete tasks in a timely manner and meet deadlines

  • Ability to follow verbal and written directions

  • Basic math, addition, subtraction. Count money and give accurate change.
