The Sales Manager helps bring people to Ko-Kwel Casino Resort Medford by building relationships with businesses, government agencies, healthcare organizations, sports groups, tour operators, and other travel partners. Those connections create overnight stays, group visits, and new reasons for guests to experience everything the resort has to offer.This role combines relationship building, creative problem solving, and a strong understanding of hotel sales. Working closely with hotel operations and other resort departments, the Sales Manager turns opportunities into well-planned guest experiences while helping the hotel grow its occupancy, room revenue, and presence in the Medford market. The position also leads and supports one full-time Sales Coordinator.What you bring to the tableMake sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.Develop and execute an annual sales plan focused on increasing hotel occupancy, room revenue, ADR, and market share. Prospect for new business through outside sales calls, networking, community involvement, trade shows, client visits, and industry events. Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate accounts, government agencies, healthcare organizations, sports teams, tour operators, and other key market segments. Identify and pursue new business opportunities while maintaining and expanding existing client relationships. Develop creative sales strategies and promotional opportunities to generate overnight stays and group business. Prepare, negotiate, and execute hotel group contracts, meeting agreements, and proposals that support operational and financial objectives. Coordinate group room blocks and meeting space reservations to ensure exceptional guest experiences and seamless operational execution. Partner with Hotel Operations, Food & Beverage, Marketing, Facilities, and other departments to successfully plan and execute group business. Monitor sales performance, maintain an active sales pipeline, and prepare forecasts, production reports, and market analysis for leadership. Maintain accurate client records, sales activity, and reporting within company systems. Develop and manage departmental budgets and revenue forecasts while ensuring responsible financial stewardship. Provide direct leadership, coaching, and performance management for one full-time Sales Coordinator. Support and encourage the development, training, and advancement of Tribal member employees in alignment with Ko-Kwel Casino Resort Tribal Employment Preference policies. Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)Must-haves, nice-to-haves, and maybe some bonus pointsFriendly and approachable attitude that helps guests (and the team) feel welcome and cared for every day.Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Three to five years of successful hotel sales experience with a proven track record of increasing room revenue. Experience developing new business through prospecting, relationship building, and outside sales. Experience negotiating contracts, preparing proposals, budgeting, and sales forecasting. Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Agilysys, Infor HMS, Delphi, or similar hotel sales and property management systems preferred. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Casino resort experience is a plus. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
