JOB DESCRIPTION
The Undergraduate Student Research Assistant will contribute to cutting-edge geoscience research focused on the development, implementation, and evaluation of artificial intelligence (AI) workflows for seismic data analysis. The student will work as part of a research team investigating how modern AI, machine learning, image processing, and computational methods can improve seismic interpretation, geological characterization, and subsurface feature detection.
This position provides hands-on experience in applied geophysics, computational geoscience, and scientific programming while exposing students to real-world research problems in energy exploration, carbon storage, geothermal systems, and structural geology.
The assistant will participate in the entire research workflow, from literature review and data preparation to algorithm development, testing, validation, documentation, and presentation of research findings.
