A qualified candidate must possess the following:

• Combination of experience related to customer service and or activity-based programming.
• Ability to work independently, make sound decisions and have the ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques and methods of procedure used in organizing, planning and conducting all type of activities.
• Knowledge of the entire scope of activities and their suitability in the Community Recreation Program for individuals and groups of varying demographics and interests.
• Ability to create, negotiate, implement and sustain partnerships via various MWR agreements
• Ability to maintain a clear and accurate database
• Ability to represent the department and speak in front of both small and large groups
• Knowledge of recreational and entertainment events.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

Knowledge gained through the successful completion of a baccalaureate program with a major study appropriate to the field of recreation and event planning
OR
At least three years of experience that shows a demonstrated knowledge of the techniques, principles, and methods utilized in the operation of special events in community recreation.
