We are seeking an Assistant Manager, Community Services to join our team at Momiji Health Care Society! ย  Job Title:ย Assistant Manager, Community Services Reports To:ย Manager, Community Services Location:ย Momiji Headquarters โ€“ 3555 Kingston Rd, Scarborough, ON, M1M 3W4 Salary or Salary Range:ย  $48,500 - $55,000 Job Type: Full-Time, 1-Year Contract (Maternity Leave Coverage) ย  Momiji Health Care Society (โ€œMomijiโ€) is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the independence, health, and quality of life of senior citizens, primarily of Japanese-Canadian descent. Our team is passionate about meeting the needs of our senior citizens and is committed to working collaboratively and openly with a results-oriented approach. ย  Job Summary: The Assistant Manager, Community Services plays a key leadership role in the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of Momijiโ€™s community-based services. This position oversees a portfolio that includes meals programs, transportation services, and Friendly Visiting, ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals and funder requirements. The Assistant Manager balances hands-on operational leadership with strategic contributions, including service enhancements, funding opportunities, and cross-functional initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a collaborative, people-focused leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about supporting seniors in the community. Working Hours: Momiji runs seven days per week. This is a full-time, onsite position working 37.5 hours per week, typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM โ€“ 5:00 PM. Flexibility may be required for occasional evenings or weekends to support programs, events, or operational needs. Vacancy Status: This posting is for an existing vacancy. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the day-to-day operations of Meals programs, transportation services, and Friendly Visiting programs, ensuring high-quality, safe, and client-centred service delivery * Ensure programs meet financial targets, performance objectives, and funder (MSAA) requirements * Supervise and support frontline staff (Program Worker(s) and Drivers), including coaching, performance management, and professional development * Build and maintain strong relationships with tenants, community partners, and internal teams to support service delivery and engagement * Lead and participate in cross-functional initiatives, community events, and tenant-focused activities * Identify and implement service improvements and new program opportunities aligned with organizational goals * Support funding applications, grant writing, and fundraising initiatives as required * Monitor program data, incidents, and risk reports; prepare reports and ensure accurate documentation and financial tracking * Support departmental operations, including quality improvement initiatives (QIP), policy development, and administrative processes * Other duties as assigned Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience * Diploma or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Social Work, Gerontology, Social Sciences, or a related field * Minimum 5 years of experience in the gerontology, seniorsโ€™ services, or community services sector * Previous supervisory or leadership experience * Strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices in community and seniorsโ€™ care * Excellent organizational, case management, and problem-solving skills * Strong communication skills (verbal and written) in English * Ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders, including clients, families, staff, and partners * Experience with reporting, data tracking, and grant writing is an asset * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems * Japanese language skills are considered an asset. ย  Momiji is committed to fair and equitable recruiting practices in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA).
