Parsons is an industry leader in successfully delivering complex, challenging, and high-profile infrastructure projects across all project delivery models, including integrated delivery (public-private partnership, design-build, construction management at-risk) and traditional delivery. We need a Director: Provincial Business Line who is versatile, and who possesses exceptional communication, analytical and management skills. In this role you will lead a large team of multiple offices across the design of multi-million-dollar transit and infrastructure projects, will take a leadership role in developing and executing our business plan and will oversee, manage, and build our highways engineering team and portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Project Manager and/or Team leader in relevant projects, tasks, and other assignments, including preparation of technical reports and documentation of activity for clients and project management and promoting technical excellence and quality assurance of project tasks and deliverables.
  • Lead, grow and develop infrastructure team based out of our Toronto office.
  • Lead, coach, motivate and provide leadership for staff to provide high-quality services and innovative solutions to complex roadway and infrastructure design challenges involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of technical reports and documentation of activity for clients and project management and promoting technical excellence and quality assurance of project tasks and deliverables.
  • Provide day-to-day operations, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work to achieve project objectives and outcome measures.
  • Be a differentiator in business development actions and undertake leadership roles in proposal preparation including assistance in developing project methodology, work programs, schedules, and budgets.
  • Maintain an awareness of trends, developments and advancements in relevant fields and broader industry to retain technical competency and provide state-of-the-art services and advice to our clients.
  • Serves as the representative with clients and selected subcontractors through business acquisition through delivery.
  • Collaborate with Business Development a key client manager and seller doer to market and secure additional work with provincial, regional, and municipal clients.
  • Capture leadership for key RFP pursuits that establish Parsons as a premier service provider.
  • Client management of key Infrastructure clients.
  • Work closely and instill strong collaboration with municipal service line counterpart and be a champion of "One Infrastructure"
  • Participates in negotiations with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.
  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors the draft and final deliverables for adherence to these criteria.
  • Partners with managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
  • Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or demonstrated experience in your area of expertise coupled with strong business acumen.
  • A recognized leader in the GTA Infrastructure business
  • 15+ years of relevant technical experience, including 5 years of successful technical leadership and project management experience with key municipal and provincial clients.
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in training, mentoring, motivating, leading, and supervising a team of highly qualified professional staff.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Applied knowledge of published standards and guidelines from provincial and municipal governments and associations.
  • Excellent understanding of relevant road and highway engineering complexities and stakeholders' requirements.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations is required.
