Make a Difference
Community Hospital East has an excellent opportunity available within our main Operating Room located in Indianapolis, IN. The Operating Room CST will be responsible for scrubbing on a variety of surgical cases. You will assist the surgeons and anticipate needs. The Certified Surgical Technologist will possess knowledge of sterile and aseptic technique.
Exceptional Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduation from a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program OR graduation from an NCCT-authorized school with completion of a GED or high school diploma. Associate degree preferred.
  • Graduates of a Military Training Program in Surgical Technology that is not accredited must provide a copy of a DD214 stating the base where the program was completed and a graduation certification.
  • Current Surgical Technologists with an associate degree or higher in another field and have completed at least 120 surgical cases within the last four years and have completed 30 continuing education credits within the last two years may also be considered.
  • Surgical Technologist certification obtained from the NBSTSA required within six months of hire.
  • 1 year of Operating Room experience preferred
  • Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skill are required
  • Demonstrates ability to prioritize, organize and multi-task with a high degree of responsibility, responsiveness
  • Takes direction well but also self directed and motivated
