Job description

Description Help shape how an entire community connects with its local government. As our Community Engagement Specialist, you'll develop creative outreach strategies, produce engaging social media content, and help tell the City's story through innovative digital communications. Working collaboratively with departments across the organization, you'll manage community engagement initiatives, analyze campaign performance, and ensure communications are accessible, impactful, and meaningful.

This position collaborates heavily with divisions City-wide and manages the City's community engagement platform. If you're a creative communicator who enjoys blending strategy, storytelling, and multimedia to make a difference, we'd love to hear from you. Learn more about what you would do in this role in the video below: Examples of the Work Performed POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES Provides excellent, proactive customer service to both internal and external customers, to include providing design, production, and outreach support to Public Affairs, with the City Manager's Office and other city divisions Advises and assists the Public Affairs Director and staff in developing outreach strategies and communications materials to support the city's overall outreach and engagement efforts Develops and implements long-range outreach planning, as well as the day-to-day creation of content for main city social media channels Develops and edits copy for social media, planning content in advance and ensuring regular, engaging posting on the city's channels Manages the City's Meta Business Suite, ensuring all division-level social media channels comply with city policy Regularly advises and interacts with division-level social media administrators to answer questions, provide best practices, etc. Responsible for promoting compliance with applicable digital accessibility standards (including Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) for all city social media channels Monitors analytics for the city's social media and implements strategies to improve reach and engagement Supports city efforts to establish and maintain positive and productive community relations between the city and citizens, the business community, media, outside agencies and public officials Designs and produces online creative, collateral and publications Collaborates with other city programs to develop outreach materials and other items necessary to the work program of each section Contributes to the procurement of all photo imagery and illustration necessary for city-produced outreach materials Manages the city's community engagement platform, including creating project pages, reviewing content for quality assurance and approving new pages Assists with increasing engagement on various social media platforms Assists with videography outreach efforts Participates in cross-training efforts with the Digital Media Specialist positions, including website management, graphic design, and photo and video documentation Other duties as assigned To review the full job description for this position, please click the following: Community Engagement Specialist Job Description Qualifications MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, Communications, or a related field.
