Job Description
The City of Raleigh's Community Engagement Department is seeking a collaborative and service-oriented
Community Engagement Analyst to join our team. This role plays a vital part in strengthening the City's capacity to engage the public in ways that are accessible, responsive, and rooted in community priorities.
The
Community Engagement Analyst will report to the Community Partnerships Supervisor under the Community Partnerships Division and work with staff across all divisions of the department, including neighborhood services, youth services, business services, and organizational development. This cross-functional structure offers a unique opportunity to gain broad experience and contribute to a wide range of initiatives that connect residents with city resources and decision-making processes.
In this role, you'll support Raleigh Neighborhood College, Raleigh Engagement Network, and Volunteer Raleigh by coordinating programs, providing technical assistance, supporting training efforts, and strengthening community participation across the city, among other duties and responsibilities.
This is a hybrid role eligible for teleworking 2 days per week. Some evening and weekend work is required for community meetings and engagement events.
About You
You're passionate about building authentic, meaningful connections between people, whether they're shaping policies or are directly impacted by them. You understand that engagement is more than outreach; it's about learning together, honoring lived experience, and creating space for shared ownership in shaping solutions.
A strong communicator and thoughtful listener, you bring empathy, professionalism, and precision to everything you do. Whether supporting a project team, developing engagement tools, or facilitating community conversations, you're focused on helping others succeed and ensuring they're included.
You thrive in roles that balance strategy and human connection. With a deep understanding of public service and community dynamics, you're driven to make government accessible, and people-centered, especially for those who have historically been underserved or overlooked. For you, capacity building is not just a task, but a long-term commitment to collaboration, fairness, and shared impact.
About Us:
The Community Engagement Department leads the City of Raleigh's efforts to connect with residents in meaningful and people-focused ways. Through programs in neighborhood services, youth services, community partnerships, and organizational development, we promote civic participation and support local leadership.

Together, we work to ensure that city processes reflect the perspectives, experiences, and contributions of all Raleigh residents.
Note: While this position is housed within the Community Partnerships Division, the Analyst may support work across all divisions.
