Job description

The City of Warren is accepting applications for the position of Community Development Inspector. This position will prepare and review plans and specifications, perform skilled inspection of residential, commercial, and/or industrial demolition, acquisition, rehabilitation or new construction projects undertaken by the City's Community Development Program, its sub-recipients and contractors to assure compliance with the City's Ordinances, the Community Development Program's regulations, and quality workmanship. Assist in carrying out Community Development Program policies and procedures.
Requirements:
• Graduation from a standard high school or G.E.D.
o Diploma or official, sealed transcripts REQUIRED with application
• Four (4) years of experience in building construction work.
• Must possess and maintain a Residential Builder's License through the State of Michigan.
• Possess a valid license to operate a motor vehicle in the State of Michigan. Driving record must meet city standards for insurability.
Pay rate: $74,719/year - $84,228/year (After 5 years)
Benefits include health, dental and life insurance, paid vacation and sick time.
