David Raines Community Health Centers is looking for passionate, qualified applicants to join our team!

General Description:

The Community Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing community outreach, engagement, and partnership initiatives for David Raines Community Health Centers. This role serves as a primary representative of the organization in the community, strengthening relationships with community organizations, schools, businesses, and other stakeholders while increasing awareness of DRCHC services and programs.

Working closely with the Development Director, the Community Development Coordinator implements strategic outreach initiatives through community events, presentations, mobile unit activities, partnership development, and volunteer engagement. This position manages the day-to-day logistics of outreach programs and fundraising events while ensuring DRCHC maintains a visible, professional, and impactful presence throughout the communities it serves.

The Community Development Coordinator also supports business development efforts by identifying community opportunities, cultivating relationships, coordinating outreach activities, and assisting with initiatives that promote organizational growth and patient engagement.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Plans, organizes, and executes community outreach activities and engagement initiatives, including identifying and recommending opportunities that align with organizational priorities.
  • Represents DRCHC at community events, civic organizations, schools, churches, businesses, and other public forums by delivering presentations and maintaining a professional organizational presence.
  • Develops, cultivates, and maintains relationships with community organizations, nonprofit agencies, educational institutions, faith-based organizations, businesses, and other stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and increase awareness of DRCHC services.
  • Supports business development initiatives by identifying community partnership opportunities, conducting outreach to prospective organizations, and assisting with relationship development that supports patient growth and organizational objectives.
  • Coordinates all logistics for outreach events, health fairs, mobile medical unit activities, community presentations, and special events, including scheduling, vendor coordination, materials preparation, setup, breakdown, volunteer coordination, and follow-up activities.
  • Coordinates and executes fundraising activities, including serving as lead coordinator for DRCHC's annual fundraising event, sponsor logistics, silent auction coordination, volunteer coordination, donor stewardship support, and day-of event operations.
  • Coordinates community outreach associated with the mobile medical unit, including event planning, site coordination, community communication, and operational support in collaboration with clinic leadership.
  • Coordinates volunteer recruitment, scheduling, training, and on-site management for community events and organizational initiatives.
  • Research potential grant, sponsorship, and community funding opportunities and provides information to support organizational funding initiatives.
  • Assists in the development and coordination of community liaison groups and other initiatives that strengthen DRCHC's relationships throughout its service area.
  • Maintains the departmental outreach calendar, event tracker, and partnership database to ensure timely planning, implementation, and follow-up of all community development activities.
  • Coordinates vendor participation, community resource partners, entertainment, and event logistics to ensure successful community outreach initiatives.
  • Maintains outreach inventory, promotional materials, displays, and event equipment to support community engagement activities.
  • Tracks outreach activities, event outcomes, community engagement metrics, and partnership development efforts, providing reports and recommendations to support continuous improvement.
  • Assists in advocacy initiatives that support DRCHC's mission at the local, state, and national levels through community engagement, outreach, and relationship development.
  • Collaborates with the Communications & Marketing Coordinator and Development Director to support organizational marketing, communications, and branding initiatives by capturing content, assisting with campaigns, and providing operational support as needed to ensure departmental success.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational goals.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Public Relations or related degree.

Experience: Minimum five years of experience in community relations or development activities, business development or project management experience.

Must be willing to travel and/or work extended and weekends to coordinate activities, projects/programs, and/or represent DRCHC.

Preferred Qualifications: FQHC or Healthcare experience.
