Development Coordinator

The Development Coordinator is critical in supporting CAVA’s restaurant growth by managing the detailed execution of development projects from site initiation through turnover. Working within the Development Services team, this role ensures vendor quotes, permitting, contracts, and fixtures are tracked and delivered accurately and on time. Development Coordinators own core project-level responsibilities, maintain key systems and trackers, and serve as the primary point of coordination between many internal partners and third-party vendors throughout the construction process. This is a dynamic role well-suited for individuals who are eager to learn, thrive on solving problems, and want to grow within a high-performing development organization.

What You’ll Do:

·       Coordinate RFQ and bidding process for general contractors and third-party vendors, ensuring accuracy and consistency across documentation.

·       Maintain project data and documentation in Sitefolio, including budget entries, vendor onboarding, insurance certificates, and contract uploads.

·       Track vendor quotes and purchase orders against budget, flagging scope or cost concerns, and support invoice processing and approvals.

·       Track and manage delivery schedules for furniture, signage, and equipment to support construction timelines and operational readiness.

·       Oversee permitting coordination by liaising with expediters and tracking progress for business licenses, health permits, and construction approvals.

·       Support Construction Managers during close-out by coordinating documentation, reviewing as-builts, and gathering tenant allowance materials.

·       Prepare and submit tenant improvement allowance packages to internal stakeholders, ensuring accurate documentation and timely landlord reimbursement.

·       Participate in project calls and vendor meetings to share updates, clarify responsibilities, and ensure understanding across functions.

·       Ensure consistent application of file management standards and maintain development records to support audit and compliance needs.

·       Coordinate with cross-functional partners, including Legal, Finance, Marketing, and Operations, to ensure projects remain on track for a successful opening.

 

The Qualifications:

Education & Experience

·       Bachelor’s degree in business, construction management, or a related field preferred.

·       Minimum 2 years of experience in a project coordination or administrative role with experience in Development or Procurement a plus. 

·       Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple active projects.

·       Ability to read construction drawings and interpret vendor proposals and scopes of work.

·       Proficiency in project management platforms and Microsoft Office tools. Knowledge of SiteFolio or other Real Estate strategy tool a plus.

·       Strong communicator with experience coordinating across internal teams and external partners.

·       Ability to assess issues and escalate problems with cost, timing, or compliance.

·       Familiarity with capital project workflows, including permitting, procurement, and turnover, is a plus.

Physical Requirements:  

·       Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment

·       Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details

·       For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds

·       Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively

·       Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable

·       Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
