Description
Providence is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Development Associate to support our fundraising, donor engagement, and community outreach efforts. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with data, meaningfully contributing to events, and managing multiple projects and priorities in the development space.
As a key member of our Development and Community Relations team, you'll help maintain the systems and processes that power our fundraising efforts, while coordinating events and initiatives that strengthen our mission.
Development Associate Schedule: 40 hours a week. Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30. Occasional evening or weekend community event.
Development Associate Location(s): Office hub in Millersville, MD.
Occasional travel to other Providence sites in Anne Arundel and Charles County.
Development Associate Compensation: Salaried. $48,000-$52,000 annually.
What You'll Do as a Development Associate
CRM / Donor Database Management
  • Maintain and manage donor, fundraising, and related data within our CRM database, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Process gifts, sponsorships, pledges, and donations while providing timely tracking and acknowledgment support.
  • Generate reports, mailing lists, donor segments, and fundraising insights to support campaigns and decision-making.
  • Support effective database practices and help identify opportunities to improve development processes and data management.
Fundraising & Event Coordination
  • Coordinate key event logistics, from planning through post-event follow-up, for select fundraising events and community engagement opportunities.
  • Manage event registrations, sponsorship tracking, attendee communications, vendor coordination, and post-event data reporting.
  • Assist with donor cultivation efforts, including outreach and securing in-kind donations for fundraising initiatives.
Administrative Support
  • Support donor communications, including acknowledgments, newsletters, email campaigns, and outreach materials.
  • Assist with grant administration, reporting deadlines, and maintaining development records and documentation.
  • Provide general administrative support and serve as a point of contact for development-related inquiries.

Requirements
What We're Looking For in a Development Associate
  • At least 2 years of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, community relations, or a related field.
  • Experience working with CRM platforms such as DonorPerfect, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce NPSP, Bloomerang, Neon, or similar database systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively in a mission-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications for our Development Team
  • Experience coordinating events or supporting fundraising initiatives.
  • Experience creating reports and analyzing development-related data.
  • Familiarity with donor stewardship and relationship-building activities.
  • Experience identifying process improvements and increasing operational efficiency.
  • Proficiency in DonorPerfect, WordPress, and advanced Microsoft Office skills.
