Job Summary
We are hiring a local Business Development Representative to grow our strategic accounts and referral partnerships throughout Central New Jersey.
This is an in-person relationship-building role focused on developing partnerships with local businesses, property managers, realtors, contractors, moving companies, storage facilities, senior living communities, and other referral sources.
This position combines:
- Face-to-face networking and relationship building
- In-person business visits and meetings
- Phone outreach and follow-up
- Email and social media communication
This is not a remote-only position. Candidates should be comfortable meeting clients and referral partners in person on a regular basis.
Base salary starts at $250/week plus commission, bonuses, and additional incentives tied to performance and revenue growth.
We are looking for an energetic self-starter with a "hunter mentality" who enjoys meeting people, building relationships, and creating new business opportunities in the local community.
This is a great opportunity for someone interested in growing within a fast-moving small business environment while developing real-world experience in business development, sales, marketing, and networking.
Responsibilities
- Prospect for new business opportunities through in-person visits, phone calls, email outreach, networking, and social media
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses and referral partners
- Attend networking events, chamber meetings, BNI groups, trade events, and community functions
- Generate and manage a pipeline of leads and referral accounts
- Conduct in-person meetings with prospective partners and customers
- Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up communication
- Help develop local marketing and partnership strategies
- Manage social media outreach and engagement
- Update CRM systems and maintain organized sales records
- Create weekly sales and activity reports
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, or marketing preferred
- Comfortable with both in-person meetings and phone/email communication
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and highly organized
- Comfortable networking and introducing yourself to new people
- Results-oriented mindset with strong follow-through
- Proficiency with social media and basic computer applications
- Familiarity with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office preferred
- Local candidate preferred
- Reliable transportation required
Compensation
