Traveling Dental Assistant – Capitol Dental Care Outreach Team

Salem and Mid-Willamette Valley, Oregon | Full-Time | Tuesday–Friday

Gentle Dental is the preferred provider for Capitol Dental Care, a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving access to quality oral healthcare throughout Oregon.

As a Traveling Dental Assistant, you'll be part of a specialized outreach team that delivers compassionate, high-quality dental care in both mobile dental clinics and community-based practices throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley. Schedule

Full-Time
Tuesday – Friday

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during clinical procedures in both mobile and traditional clinic settings.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and mobile operatories for patient care.
  • Sterilize instruments and maintain infection control standards.
  • Support patient education and ensure an exceptional patient experience.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Travel between community clinics and the mobile dental van as part of the Outreach Team.
  • Collaborate with clinical and operational teammates to provide efficient, compassionate care across multiple locations.

Location

This is a traveling position based in Salem, Oregon, traveling throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley. Team members provide care throughout the local market by supporting both Capitol Dental Care's mobile dental van and affiliated community dental clinics. Reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between care locations are essential.

Qualifications

Required

  • Certificate from an accredited Dental Assisting Program
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification
  • Ability to travel between multiple care locations throughout the Mid-Willamette Valley

Preferred

  • Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) Certification
  • Dental Radiology (X-Ray) Certification
  • Registered Dental Assistant (RDA), where applicable
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Previous experience working in community health, public health, mobile dentistry, or multi-site clinical environments
