Job Type Non-Faculty Position Title Community Director Position Number N00096 Department Housing and Residential Education Location Morehouse College - Atlanta, GA Position Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Housing and Residential Education, the Community Director is a full-time, live-in, position that provides leadership and direction to a first year student, residential building of fewer than 325 students. The incumbent is responsible for managing all aspects of a residence hall including supervision of student staff, management of building facilities, developmental contact with residents and overseeing judicial, educational and social outreach.
Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree
    • Effective interpersonal communication skills
    • Knowledge of counseling practices
    • Administrative ability and supervisory skills
    • Ability to work with, manage and train large groups
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree in Student Personnel or related field preferred
Ability to work with diverse populations
Knowledge of and commitment to maintaining a student development focus in their building
  • Experience with Residence Hall Association (RHA)
Preferred Education/Experience
Master's Degree in Student Personnel or Higher Education
