Description
The custodian plays a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and proper setup of the Plymouth Community Center. This position is essential for creating a welcoming environment for our community. This position would assist in preparing for and cleaning up from birthday parties, playground activities, weddings, meetings, classes & programs for children and seniors, and more.
Shift lengths and start times may vary based on building activities. Individuals can anticipate scheduled shifts being 4 - 6 hours in length.

Essential Functions
  • Perform janitorial duties to maintain cleanliness throughout the community center and its grounds

  • Complete facility set-ups and teardowns for room arrangements under the direction of the Facility Coordinator/Building Supervisors

  • Conduct tasks such as changing light bulbs, washing windows, cleaning restrooms, restocking inventory, mopping floors, dusting, and performing light repairs

  • Operate maintenance equipment, including floor scrubbers, vacuums, and sweepers.

Qualifications
  • Must be able to work independently and efficiently; must be capable of working effectively during busy times.

  • Must have interpersonal skills to interact with the public in a professional manner

  • Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, but training is provided.

Physical Qualifications:
  • This position will require physical labor in the form of moving tables, chairs and full trash bags.

Seasonal, temporary and non-regular employees are not eligible for benefits.
