About Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia
The Pozez Jewish Community Center of Northern Virginia (Pozez JCC), located in Fairfax, Virginia, is a nonprofit, social service organization that builds community and enriches lives. The Pozez JCC is a community connector, offering a variety of programs and services on the main campus, online and throughout Northern Virginia through its many partnerships. Quality programs and experiences, based on Jewish values, include early childhood education, after-school & day camps, social programs for families raising young children, J-Fit health & aquatics activities, adult learning and cultural programs, inclusion and disabilities services, community impact through volunteerism, and more. Programs are open to people of all ages and backgrounds.
The Pozez JCC is seeking Staff for the Chai-5 After School Program. Candidates must be available to work at least 3 days a week (M-F) from 3:00-6:00PM, though flexibility can scheduled. Chai-5 serves children from the grades of K-6 in the Fairfax area. The position is asked to help design and maintain a welcoming classroom, using age appropriate furniture, toys, decorations and supplies. They will work with other classroom staff to ensure a safe, meaningful and fun environment for the children. All candidates must have a passion for the growth and development of school-aged children!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
โ€ข Assisting with the day-to-day operations of the program
โ€ข Working with 1-2 other classroom staff
โ€ข Setting up daily snack, facilitate daily activities, give homework help, and maintain a safe and fun environment for all children in the program
โ€ข Implementing weekly developmentally appropriate programming
โ€ข Coordinating and leading group games and activities
โ€ข Attending all trainings and staff meetings
โ€ข Developing strong relationships with children, parents, staff and the JCCNV community
โ€ข Maintaining a neat, safe, and well-decorated classroom
โ€ข Monitoring children's' behavior and communication with administrators
โ€ข Recording and maintaining accurate attendance lists every day
The pay range for this role is:
13.50 - 15 USD per hour (fairfax)
