Job description

Associa is currently looking for a Gatehouse and Community Attendant to join our team in Sandia Park, NM. As a Gatehouse and Community Attendant, you will generally assist with providing guests with information, directions and ensuring the community center is in order.
Position Overview
This is a part-time position scheduled for up to three days per week, 21+ hours. The Gatehouse Attendant will typically work Thursday-Saturday in summer and possible Wed-Friday in the winter, with occasional availability needed to fill in for staff time off.
Gatehouse Daily Hours:
• Summer (May-Sept): Mon-Sat 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Closed Sundays.
• Winter (Oct-April): Mon-Fri 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Closed Sundays

Gatehouse Attendants play a key role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-managed community. Their presence supports security, customer service, and the smooth operation of community facilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Greet visitors, monitor access, and assist with inquiries to ensure a secure environment.
• Check in visitors, guests, and vendors before allowing entry.
• Make daily rounds of the community, including wells and the community center, ensuring safety and reporting concerns and Well alarms.
• Observe the community during rounds to prevent theft, property damage, safety violations, or rule infractions.
• Provide excellent communication and customer service to residents and guests.
• Maintain organization and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Conduct parking and traffic enforcement as needed.
• Open the pool/spa during summer months and perform light cleaning duties.
• Ensure the community center is orderly, including light janitorial tasks (emptying trash, sweeping, wiping counters, restocking supplies).
• Assist with basic pool maintenance, including netting, vacuuming, and related tasks.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
• Experience with office equipment and computers.
• Prior experience in similar roles is helpful but not required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a self-directed environment.

Compensation: $15.97/hour, direct experience highly considered
• Proficiency with basic computer skills, printers, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Professional communication skills (phone, written, verbal, interpersonal).
• Strong customer service abilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work as part of a team.
• Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
• Ability to interpret and complete verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of conflict-resolution techniques.
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform light cleaning tasks (sweeping, emptying trash, etc.).
