Job Summary: The Community Impact Seasonal Assistant provides short-term surge capacity support to the Atlanta Hawks Community Impact team during peak activation periods, assisting Managers and Coordinators with program logistics, event execution, volunteer coordination, and administrative tasks. This role is not a program owner; it is a critical operational support resource that enables the full-time team to execute at the highest level during the busiest times of the year. Success is defined by the ability to show up ready, execute assigned tasks with precision and enthusiasm, and contribute positively to a fast-moving, community-first team culture.
Key Responsibilities:
55% Primary Responsibilities
  • Provide on-the-ground event support for community programs and activations as directed by the Manager, including setup, breakdown, volunteer check-in, guest management, and day-of logistics.
  • Assist Coordinators with administrative tasks during peak periods, including data entry in Salesforce, calendar updates, supply coordination, and vendor communication support.
  • Support volunteer coordination efforts under the direction of the Manager: assist with volunteer check-in, on-site management, and post-event hour tracking.
  • Assist with the processing and fulfillment of Donation Program and Community Ticket Program requests as directed by the Hawks Coordinator.

25% Secondary Responsibilities
  • Gather event photos, attendance counts, and program notes to support post-event recap documentation developed by the Coordinators and Manager.
  • Assist with supply ordering, inventory management, and event material preparation for upcoming activations.
  • Support department communications and scheduling tasks as assigned, including calendar management and meeting preparation.

15% Tertiary Responsibilities
  • Assist with research, data compilation, and administrative projects that support the Director's impact measurement and reporting processes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the broader CI team as needed during high-volume periods.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative team culture by approaching all tasks with energy, flexibility, and a community-first mindset.

5% Additional Responsibilities
  • Represent the Atlanta Hawks at community events as a brand ambassador as directed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

*And any other job duties assigned
Requirements:
  • 1-2 years of related experience in community relations, event support, nonprofit, or the sports industry
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and execute tasks independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting community events or volunteer programs
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms
  • Passion for community engagement and social impact
