There are several steps to finding a job in communications. The first step is to get a degree in communications. Networking with other professionals can help you land a job and grow your career in any company or organization. Next, you can use these connections to get your foot in the door. Rather than chasing that dream job right away, you should be willing to work your way up. Finally, you should develop your own brand and learn how to do public relations for yourself to showcase your talent to prospective employers.

Job description

Join the company defining what it means to be an Impact Lender!
Mortgages are what we do, but that doesn't define who we are. In 2008, Movement disrupted the industry with the innovative 6-7-1 mortgage process. In 2023, we pioneered again, helping launch Impact Lending - a new category of lending. Any mortgage lender that commits at least 10% of its profits to helping the neighborhoods it serves is an Impact Lender.
At Movement, we are Impact Lenders. We give 40%-50% of our profits to making an impact in our communities. For us, purpose and people have always come before profit.
At Movement, communication is one of the most important tools we have for creating alignment, strengthening culture, and helping our people do their best work.
We're looking for a Communications Specialist to join our Communications team and help inform, engage, and connect employees across the organization. This role will support executive communications, employee communications, company-wide initiatives, and key organizational announcements. The ideal candidate is a strong writer, a detail-oriented project manager, and a collaborative partner who enjoys turning complex information into clear, actionable communication.
You'll work closely with leaders across the company to help deliver messages that matter. From executive announcements and employee campaigns to major company initiatives and enterprise communications planning, you'll play an important role in how information flows across the organization.
Movement is not your average mortgage company. We move fast, challenge convention, and believe business can be a force for good. Through the Movement Foundation, a significant portion of our profits supports initiatives that create positive change in communities around the world. We care deeply about our mission, our culture, and the people who make it all possible.
If you're energized by clear communication, collaboration, and helping a growing organization stay informed and connected, we'd love to meet you.
