  • An infrastructure enthusiast who enjoys geeking out on how projects get done and what infrastructure is needed to make communities run efficiently and effectively. They understand the dynamics public policy and public opinion play in shaping some of the nation's most significant public infrastructure programs and can build effective campaigns accordingly.
  • A skilled project manager with strong organizational, project management and stakeholder management abilities. They can work independently, manage multiple priorities and identify opportunities proactively.
  • An experienced communicator with a background in journalism, public relations, public affairs or corporate communications. PR/marketing agency or public information officer experience is preferred.

Responsibilities for this role include:

  • Monitoring industry and policy developments and recommending proactive communications opportunities.
  • Tracking project milestones, industry events, awards programs and speaking opportunities that support strategic communications and business goals.

Client Service Responsibilities

  • Partnering with business leaders to identify project milestones, innovations and industry trends that can generate media interest.
  • Positioning key thought leaders to support pursuits and build client relationships
  • Identifying opportunities to position STV executives and technical leaders through media interviews, bylined articles, speaking engagements, owned social media content and industry commentary.
  • Collaborating with business leaders to provide advice and counsel before and during crises

Teamwork Responsibilities

  • Coordinating with communications team members to drive efficient and effective execution and amplify key stories with strategic paid, earned, owned and social media campaigns.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Drafting press releases, media pitches, talking points, project announcements and executive communications materials.
  • Generating content for both internal and external audiences that aligns with STV's Strategic Plan, elevates STV's visibility and drives towards other communications goals

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in public relations, communications, journalism, media relations or public affairs.
  • Demonstrated success securing earned media coverage and building relationships with reporters and editors.
  • Familiarity with top 10 media markets.
  • Understanding of transportation, infrastructure, government and/or public-sector issues.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, interviewing and storytelling skills.
  • Proficiency in AI usage, particularly Microsoft Copilot
  • Existing relationships with transportation, infrastructure, government, business or regional media outlets strongly preferred.
