Milwaukee College Prep is a high-performing network of public charter schools dedicated to ensuring every student
is prepared for high school, college, and life. With a mission grounded in academic excellence, character
development, and equity, our schools serve a diverse population of students and families across Milwaukee.

Position Overview:
Milwaukee College Prep is seeking a passionate and creative Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our
Advancement & External Affairs team. The Marketing and Communications Specialist supports internal and external
communications and marketing initiatives across the organization—and will play a key role in advancing our mission
by increasing awareness, engagement, enrollment, staff recruitment, and fundraising through effective marketing
and communications strategies. This role helps drive engagement (families, donors, staff, and alumni), promote the
organization through events, content development, marketing collateral, etc., and ensure consistent messaging
across all platforms and audiences.

Responsibilities:

Marketing and; Content Strategic Planning
o In collaboration with the CM an ;XAO, support the development and execution of strategic marketing
plans by coordinating content calendars, aligning messaging across channels, and ensuring brand
consistency to meet organizational goals.

Content Creation and; Storytelling:
o Write and edit compelling content (written, photography, videos) across key audiences for
newsletters, e-communication, social media, mkeprep.com, collateral, grant applications, and press
releases.
o Ensure content is consistent in voice, tone, and style across all channels.
o Capture and share stories that reflect the values, achievements, and culture of Milwaukee College
Prep.

Collateral Development:
o Develop branded creative templates to be used by leaders across the organization for flyers,
posters, and other custom materials.
o Design and produce flyers, brochures, signage, and other promotional materials using tools such as
Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.

Brand Management:
o Ensure consistency in brand messaging and visual identity across all marketing channels.
o Collaborate with internal teams to align communications with organizational goals.
Digital Marketing and  Analytics:
o Plan and execute email campaigns, paid digital advertising strategies, and paid social media
advertising strategies to drive enrollment and community engagement.
o Use analytics tools to track campaign performance and provide actionable insights.

Event and Community Outreach Support:
o Assist in planning, promoting, and supporting major school events, community open houses,
fundraisers, and other community outreach (i.e., that of MCP staff, families, prospective employees
and families).
o Help coordinate marketing materials for recruitment fairs and community events.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
Five years of experience in marketing, communications, or related roles (education or nonprofit sector a plus).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: 
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in social media management, website management (e.g., SquareSpace), email marketing
platforms (e.g., Constant Contact), design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite), and marketing
analytics tools (e.g., Meta Analytics, Google Analytics)
Experience with website content management systems and basic HTML a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
