Job description

Cerna Solutions is a fast-growing IT Services company, looking for a Full Time Staff Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to make their mark in a dynamic environment and enjoy personal growth.

The Staff Accountant will provide day-to-day financial, analytical, and administrative support, working with all departments and levels of management. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, perform efficiently and effectively while managing various priorities, work independently and as part of a team, as well as be a critical thinker and problem solver with effective communication skills. This position will report in to the Operations Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compile data, prepare and develop Management Reports including key performance indicators, variance analysis, etc., involving the extensive use of advanced excel techniques
  • Oversee Accounts Payable including 1099s
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable
  • Collections
  • Process Semi-Monthly Multi-State Payroll including accurate administration of payroll deductions and withholdings; performance of complex commission and bonus calculations; in depth review of employee expense claims for compliance with company / client policies and approval as required
  • Provide assistance and accounting support with month and year end activities
  • Reconcile General Ledger accounts
  • Accurately code and record financial transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Register
  • Identify areas of improvement to increase operational efficiency
  • Provide input to the budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures and practices
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
  • Minimum of three years general accounting experience
  • Payroll experience required
  • QuickBooks experience required (online preferred)
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft 365 including Outlook, OneNote, SharePoint, Word & Excel
  • Advanced Excel skills required
  • Adaptable with new technology (Pivot Tables, Vlookups, etc.)
