Job description

JOB SUMMARY:

The Fabrication Project Manager is responsible for the overall fabrication process of structural steel projects including direction, budgeting, coordination, scheduling, execution, and completion of specific assigned projects ensuring consistency with EZARC'S strategies, commitments, and goals. By applying best practices and techniques, the Fabrication Project Manager leads the project team to control the project schedule, cost, and performance of each project.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for a thorough understanding of each project's definition, scope, goals, and deliverables.
  • Prepare project cost and time estimates.
  • Manage project budgets, including monthly project reviews with management.
  • Proactively communicate project status, issues, and risks for delivery to EZARC management.
  • Prepare scope of work assessments and manage all quotes from outside subcontractors.
  • Capture, prepare and negotiate all project change orders.
  • Manage and coordinate all detailing/shop drawings, field drawings, and all other project details with our clients, EZARC field personnel, and other involved parties.
  • Manage multiple projects in various stages of completion, depending upon size and complexity.
  • Work with assigned team members to communicate and follow up on all project requirements and responsibilities.
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements and effectively utilize each team member's skillsets.
  • Follow EZARC's policies and procedures.
  • Conduct formal/informal status meetings with all concerned stakeholders (e.g., general contractor, owner, architect, EZARC office and field personnel, and subcontractors).
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all personnel during all phases of the project
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent project management experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management positions with an emphasis on structural and/or architectural steel projects.
  • Strong experience with steel fabrication.
  • Proven experience with people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Strong working knowledge of construction drawings, detailing, and blueprints.
  • Ability to read design documents and familiarity with design specifications (AISC, AWS, and materials).
  • Possess software capability of MS Word, Excel, TEKLA, and Outlook.
  • Experience with PowerFab is a plus, but not required.
  • Experience with Vista software is a plus, but not required.
