Job description

Student Employee - Internal Communication Project Management Assistant
Position Summary:
This role is responsible for supporting various internal communications projects, channel management, and executing physical signage changes across campus. This position oversees day-to-day project coordination across the team's marketing initiatives, serves as a key point of contact for campus departments requesting marketing or communication support, and requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, sound writing ability, the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and the willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
While each employee on the Communications team has specific responsibilities, the team also works together as needed on larger projects. This may include tasks outside this job description, such as hanging posters, carrying equipment, or assisting with events.
Student Employees are eligible to work on campus in a part time capacity according to Ensign College Student Employment Policy. In addition to fulfilling this purpose, each employee continuously strives to bring about the mission of Ensign College, which is to develop capable and trusted disciples of Jesus Christ.
Hours: 15-19 hours a week during semester and the starting wage for all student employees is $14.00 per hour with the possibility of $.25 rate increase each semester of continued work based on merit.
Specific Summary of Duties:
Project Management (40%)
  • Plan, organize, and oversee marketing and communication projects, including channel management.
    - Print & change signs, manage RiseVision (flatscreens), tack
    signs, track QR code usage, etc.
    - Assist in measuring and analyzing channel performance
  • Manage the team's project management platform (Asana), including tasks, deadlines, media assets, and files.
  • Work directly with campus departments to define communication need and match them with the appropriate channels.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Train and provide guidance to other student employees on project workflows and tools.

Campaign & Copywriting (30%)
  • Review and edit content for ongoing marketing campaigns, including print and digital materials.
  • Proofread and edit content submitted by campus departments; serve as a subject-matter expert in Ensign College brand (tone and writing style)
  • Write original, native-level English content without relying on AI to generate finished copy; AI tools maybe used to brainstorm ideas or explore options.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure consistent, on-brand execution across channels.

Office & Team Support (30%)
  • Assist in keeping digital and physical files, equipment, and supplies organized.
  • Coordinate customer relations, video and photoshoots, and events as needed.
  • Manage email communications with stakeholders across campus and represent the team professionally.
  • Place and deliver orders, including business cards and other print needs.

Job Qualification:
  • Be currently enrolled as an Ensign College student taking at least 6 credits and in good academic standing.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to write and edit content at a native-English level of qualify (English may be a second language).
  • Ability to communicate professionally, clearly, and concisely with team members, faculty, and staff.
  • Highly self-motivated, hard worker, detail-oriented, and manage multiple projects and deadlines independently.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with the supervisor, team members, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to solve problems and ask for clarification as needed.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and Canva.
  • Familiarity with project management software (Asana preferred; experience with Trello, Microsoft Project, or similar is also acceptable).
  • Respond to emails quickly and professionally. Must be comfortable in following up with project members to be sure project is delivered on time and accurately.
  • Ability to bend, lift 40 lbs, climb stairs, and perform other physical tasks associated with signage changes.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Proficiency in graphic design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite or Canva).
