Summary

As a Field Engineer Co-op at Acceldata, you'll be working hands-on with complex distributed systems, helping real customers solve deep infrastructure and data observability challenges.

You'll get to:

  • Shadow and contribute to field-engineering solutions and architecture reviews.
  • Dive into diagnostics around performance, scalability, and deployment for large-scale data environments.
  • Learn how we enable observability across Data, Kubernetes, cloud-native platforms, and Open Source components like spark, hive, kafka etc.
  • Collaborate directly with the Field Architects to troubleshoot issues and propose improvements.
  • Learn designing, developing and deploying reusable automation and AI frameworks to enable observability of various data ecosystems and platforms.
  • Build context across Sales, Product, and Customer Success, understanding how real-world engineering meets customer expectations.
  • See what it means to turn technical solutions into customer value at scale.

This role is built for future Sales Engineers, Solution Architects, or Platform Engineers who want early exposure to enterprise-scale engineering problems.

This is a 4 month assignment, 40 hours per week, with required on-site presence at 151 Charles Street West, inside the Communitech Innovation Center.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate with the field engineering team to write, test, and deploy software solutions using advanced Java or Scala programming.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Java, Scala, and Python.Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
  • Experience with distributed computing, big data technologies, and cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Kubernetes, including deploying, managing, and scaling applications.
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts such as Pods, Services, Deployments, StatefulSets, ConfigMaps, and Secrets.
  • Understanding of the big data ecosystem, including data ingestion, processing, and storage technologies.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment, contributing to a collaborative culture.
  • Enthusiasm to learn and adapt to new technologies.
