Step into Your New Role
Kleinfelder Construction Services is seeking a full-time Communications Specialist to join our Public Relations team in our Riverside, CA office.  The Communications Specialist is an entry-level position that will support our team of talented public outreach professionals and creatives with a variety of tasks related to the implementation of public engagement, marketing, and communication plans.  This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in the office. Please note that this schedule may change based on business, team, and client needs. Work will revolve around community outreach, marketing campaigns and digital engagement - supporting various clients, including public and transportation agencies, cities, water districts, economic development agencies and more.

Job Duties
  • Collaborate with our team of public outreach specialists and graphic designers in the implementation of Public Relations (PR) programs and outreach plans for various clients. 
  • Develop engaging and forward-thinking content for social media, videos, websites, flyers, presentations, e-blasts, and other materials.
  • Plan, develop content and implement social media campaigns, including tracking metrics and analytics.
  • Coordinate with creative and design team for development and production of assets for print and digital collateral.
  • Organize and support various special events, groundbreaking and grand opening ceremonies. 
  • Develop outreach initiatives for different projects; assist with planning, coordinating, and implementing public outreach and community outreach activities.
  • Plan public meetings and workshops, manage logistics and provide materials and communications support. 
  • Support client programs and initiatives by establishing, developing, and maintaining contact with Community-based organizations and other special interest groups.
  • Reply to inquiries from the public and resolve concerns on behalf of the client.
  • Perform client-related research, stakeholder database maintenance and social media tracking.
  • General office administration tasks.
  • Assist with preparing, developing, and producing marketing proposals in response to Request for Proposals (RFP).
  • Handle multiple projects at once.
  • Meet tight deadlines and be flexible to switch directions, as needed.
  • May be required to work occasional nights, weekends, holidays and/or compensated extended hours.
  • Other duties as assigned. 
 
Minimum Requirements:
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in marketing, public relations, or community outreach.
  • Associates degree in related course of study or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Familiarity and experience with social media content development, advertising and targeting a plus.
  • Requires ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills. 
  • Ability to gather and interpret complex and/or technical information with guidance. 
  • Ability to maintain a hybrid schedule and flexibility to attend occasional evening / weekend events as required
