Education/Experience:

  • Working towards BS in Industrial Design.
  • Experience with Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), Solidworks, sketching, and creating prototypes.

ABOUT THE JOB!

Gentex Corporation is currently seeking an Industrial Design intern for the Fall 2026. Our internship program allows students the opportunity to obtain valuable, applicable work experience in a fast-paced, and challenging environment. The design Intern will focus on assisting full time designers to create 3D models and physical prototypes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to sketching, 3D modeling, model making, casting, laser cutting, painting, sewing/soft goods, composite layup and 3D printing. Applicant must be proficient with the Adobe creative suite and familiar with Solidworks. The applicant should have strong hand and digital sketching skills and be able to clearly communicate design concepts to the team. The design intern should be familiar with a Model shop and capable to safely use powered and non-powered shop tools to create prototypes. Sewing experience is also a benefit to this position. Applicants should be currently enrolled in an accredited Industrial Design program and submit a resume and portfolio.
