This position will be located at our corporate office in Overland Park, KS and will also have the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule.

Responsibilities:

-Responsible for monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts including bank, accruals, fixed assets, and others. Posting month end journal entries to appropriate accounts relating to reconciliations.

-Perform variance analysis on income statement and balance sheet accounts monthly, along with identifying trends and making reasonable arguments for recommendations to management.

-Take ownership over month end reporting, in both preparation and presentation. Provide analysis of the monthly department expenses and present to department leaders on expenses and budgets.

-Process improvement within new ERP system, and AI curiosity to increase efficiency. Investigate AI and new ERP solutions for various accounting processes such as reconciliations, deposit postings, and analysis within financial reporting.

-Assist Controller and CFO with preparation of monthly financial statements and bank reporting, as well as providing variance explanations for month to month, year to year, etc.

-Assist with year-end audit requests such as putting together schedules, gathering AP and AR third party documentation, along with any other year end analysis.

-Act as a business partner to other departments, guiding them in sound financial decision making for all aspects of the business.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field with 3 plus years of relevant accounting experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

-Thorough understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

-Advanced excel skills including vlookups, sumifs, and pivot tables.

-Strong computer and ERP knowledge.

-Excellent communication skills both verbally and written.

-Comfortable working as a team in fast paced dynamic environment.

Comfortable defining, tracking, and acting on performance metrics (response times, conversion rates, order accuracy, satisfaction and retention scores) without over-engineering measurement. Basic mathematical skills including the ability to calculate figures such as percentages, ratios, and trends.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and ERP systems; ability to partner with IT to configure and utilize ERP tools effectively. Ability to learn new programs and applications as necessary.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form, and to adapt calmly during periods of organizational change.
