Job Description

Position Summary: Commonwealth LNG is seeking an experienced and dynamic Electrical Engineer to join our team in our Houston office. This role will be integral in developing detailed designs for electrical packages and contributing to the advancement of Commonwealth LNG’s Electrical Engineering Standards. The successful candidate will lead the electrical engineering discipline across various projects, ensuring the highest standards in quality, safety, and operational reliability.

Key Accountabilities
  • Provide insight to electrical engineering projects and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Manage and forecast man‑hour estimates, schedules, and total installed cost estimates based on project scope.
  • Support the Technical Integrity function for electrical systems.
  • Develop and implement HV, MV, and LV electrical systems and protection systems.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, client requirements, and safety regulations.
  • Drive innovation in modular, mid‑scale plant designs to enhance efficiency.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and senior engineers.
  • Conduct power system studies and analysis, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Participate in front‑end engineering, detailed engineering, request for proposal, and estimation activities.
  • Review and approve designs, specifications, and contract documentation.
  • Engage in procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and verification of engineering deliverables.
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts and provide solutions for electrical system challenges.
  • Stay updated with the latest technological advancements in electrical engineering.
Qualifications

Education, Certificates, and Licenses:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering required.

Experience:

  • 5+ years of prior or relevant work experience as an Electrical Engineer required. LNG experience preferred. Modularization experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent planning and organizational skills and be able to evaluate and prioritize multiple tasks to ensure alignment with plant goals while acting with a sense of urgency (when required).
  • Ability to effectively collaborate and work with all levels of the organization including operations, technical, plant management, contractors, vendors.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in all standard MS Office products, and SAP Plant Maintenance or similar computer based maintenance system.
  • Ability to work safely, efficiently and effectively with minimal guidance and direction.
  • Strong written/verbal technical communication skill.
  • Self‑starter/motivated.
