Position Summary: Perform all levels and types of estimating, planning, scheduling, and cost engineering project activities. This position will help lead to the success of our company by producing quality, competitive electrical estimates in an ever-changing economy.
Primary Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Attend pre-bid or team scope review meetings and understand the complete scope of work required with sometimes limited information
  • Review and understand all of the project bid documents
  • Locate, notify and send bid information to subcontractors and vendors for quotations on outsourced work
  • Evaluate bids of subcontractors and vendors for completeness of scope of work, schedule, compliance with specifications, or other bid requirements
  • Understanding of general electrical design and engineering concepts
  • Assist project managers in a review of projects awarded, change orders, and job progress
  • Maintain estimating database and keep current and accurate
  • Prepare estimates on multiple projects concurrently
  • Collect statistical data on projects bid for checking and for future project checks
  • Maintain good communication with CECM offices, general contractors, suppliers, owners, and engineers
  • Expand and maintain knowledge on all software packages for estimating and project management uses
  • Exemplify, promote and foster our purpose of Committed to Excellence through our Core Values of Customers, Employees, Character and Mastery
  • All other duties as assigned and required

Required Qualifications:
  • Skilled in prioritizing, organization and time management
  • General electrical design and engineering concepts. Ability to layout branch circuiting, understanding contract drawings and specifications
  • Excellent communication skills written and verbal
  • Ability to work on a team and build working relationships within all levels of the organization
  • Computer literate and comfortable with spreadsheets and computerized takeoff programs.
  • Detail-oriented with drive to accomplish set goals

Education and Experience:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 2-5 years working as an electrical estimator, low voltage experience helpful
  • Will consider equivalent experience on case by case basis
  • Previous estimating experience utilizing McCormick desired, but not required
