Job description

Hello Humankindness

Join Siena Hospital: Impacting Lives, Locally and Nationally

At Siena Hospital, you'll become an integral part of Dignity Health Nevada, the only not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system in the region. For over 70 years, guided by the Adrian Dominican Sisters' inspiring vision, we have proudly delivered compassionate, high-quality care to the Henderson and Las Vegas communities, always prioritizing the needs of the underserved.

Our modern Siena Campus, a 326-bed acute care hospital, opened in 2000. It significantly expanded the vital services initially established by our Rose de Lima Campus, effectively meeting the evolving healthcare needs of our growing community.

Your impact, however, extends far beyond our local communities. We are also a proud member of CommonSpirit Health, a national leader operating over 2,200 care sites across 24 states. This vast network provides unparalleled opportunities for professional growth, continuous learning, and making a profound difference on a grander scale, collectively impacting nearly 1 in 4 U.S. residents.

If you are driven by an unwavering commitment to social justice, passionate about achieving health equity for all, and eager to contribute your talents to new, innovative ways of delivering compassionate care within a deeply collaborative and supportive environment, then your search ends here. Welcome to Siena – and welcome to a career of meaningful impact.

As our Nurse, Pediatric Intensive Care, you will help critically ill pediatric patients and their families receive expert, compassionate, and life-saving care so they can achieve the best possible clinical outcomes, recover safely, and experience comfort and support during their most vulnerable moments.

You will be expected to continually evaluate the quality and effectiveness of your nursing practice, manage complex medication regimens, ensure meticulous documentation, and maintain open communication with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary care team.

To be successful in this role, you must possess exceptional critical thinking, clinical expertise in pediatric intensive care, and a deep commitment to ethical, evidence-based practice with this information:

  • Completes initial patient assessment and reassessments as indicated by patient condition, and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Demonstrates critical thinking by implementing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems, and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Has the physical ability to safely and effectively care for patient population assigned and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Manages medication administration and intravenous (IV) access according to physician's orders and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.
  • Has communication abilities sufficient to promote patient and family centered care by interacting with patients, families, and care-delivery team in verbal and written form and assures practices comply with human resources, policies/procedures, and professional standards.

This position is represented by CNA and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
