TITLE:                               Security Engineer III (Common Criteria)

 

Duties:                             Serve as a part of and lead a team of engineers to assess the compliance of devices against the Common Criteria. Act as the Point of Contact for customers and the government in support of Common Criteria certifications. Regularly provide both individual and overall lab training and guidance. Conduct and lead Common Criteria evaluations against US NIAP approved protection profiles. Perform all aspects of testing. Develop all reports and required certification documentation. Create all consulting documentation. Review/comment submission-related output from other Engineers. Serve as the project point-of-contact with government and as the technical point-of-contact with customers. Lead customer Gap Analysis workshops. Participate in external technical communities. Lead internal training activities. This role requires up to 20% domestic travel and up to 10% international travel. Remote work permitted within a reasonable commuting distance of Rockville, MD.

SALARY:                           $169,978-$170,978/year

LOCATION:                     Acumen Security, LLC, 3933 US Route 11, Cortland, NY 13045 and 2400 Research Blvd., Suite 395, Rockville, MD 20850

REQUIREMENTS:        Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study and four (4) years of experience as a Security Engineer or related role.

                                              

                                        In lieu of a Bachelor's Degree in stated fields and four (4) years of stated experience, employer will accept a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field of study and two (2) years of experience as a Security Engineer or related role.

SPECIAL SKILLS:       Also requires experience in the following:

  • Two plus (2+) years of technical experience in Common Criteria certification process or a related area;

  • Customer interactions;

  • Testing security products;

  • Understanding and solving technical problems;

  • Applying standards to different types of technology;

  • Understanding and speaking on technical and programmatic levels;

  • Using security related protocols and their usage (e.g., TLS, SSH, IPsec); and

  • Understanding networking basics and devices (switched, routers, VPNGW, etc).
