Work you'll do

As a Senior Consultant, Trading & VCO on the Enterprise Operations & Risk team, you will be responsible for:

  • Lead analysis across the commodity trade lifecycle, including deal capture, scheduling and nomination, pricing, and settlements, to identify data, process, and control improvement opportunities within trading and risk operations
  • Drive the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of value chain optimization programs for commodity trading companies across Oil & Gas, Power & Utilities, Agriculture, and adjacent commodity sectors
  • Analyze commercial and operational data to identify optimization opportunities, quantify value, and develop recommendations for margin improvement
  • Lead workstreams with client stakeholders and Deloitte teams to align optimization initiatives with business objectives, delivery timelines, and implementation requirements
  • Develop solution materials, executive-ready client presentations, and pursuit assets used in business development and engagement delivery
  • Support initiatives across refining, shipping, storage, marketing, and commodity trading operations, including tracking performance against defined key performance indicators

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Economics, or a related field
  • 6+ years of experience in commodity trading, value chain optimization, operations, supply chain, or consulting
  • Experience across downstream oil & gas functions, including refining, shipping, storage, marketing, and commodity trading operations
  • Experience across the commodities trade lifecycle, including deal capture, scheduling or nomination, pricing, settlements, and market or credit risk exposures
  • Experience designing, implementing, or improving commercial or operational optimization programs, including key performance indicator tracking and value quantification
  • Experience creating client-ready analyses, presentations, or financial models to quantify business value
  • Ability to travel 75%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available.

Preferred:

  • Experience with financial modeling to quantify value and business benefits
  • Experience using data, analytics, or artificial intelligence in commercial or operational optimization
  • Experience with CTRM or ETRM platforms, including ION Endur or Openlink, Allegro, RightAngle, Eka, TriplePoint, or SAP Commodity Management
  • Experience with one or more commodity markets, including power, natural gas, crude or refined products, liquefied natural gas, metals, or agriculture
  • Experience with mark-to-market, valuation, or scenario analysis

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $110,700 to $218,300.
