Commodity Trading Attorney Jobs in Kansas (NOW HIRING)

Koch Capabilities, LLC is seeking an experiencedCommercial Counsel or Senior Counsel to support Koch’s commodity manufacturing, marketing and trading businesses.In this role, you will work with the legal and compliance team and directly with the businesses on a wide range of matters, involving everything from contract drafting and negotiation, to dispute resolution and problem solving, strategic investments, international trade and regulatory compliance.

The position will sit in Wichita, Kansas, the global headquarters of Koch, Inc. This role is eligible for relocation assistance.

You will join a team of contribution-minded lawyers and professionals who support the legal and compliance needs of global businesses in a fast-paced environment.Our team partners closely with internal clients and external resources to assess risk, shape strategy, and drive outcomes that create long-term value.

• Strategic thinking grounded in economics and risk analysis

• Provide strategic legal counsel that enables commercial growth and value creation.
• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and execution of complex commercial agreements while balancing risk, opportunity, and business objectives.
• Collaborate with business, legal, and compliance partners to navigate regulatory requirements, international trade matters, and evolving legal challenges.
• Support strategic investments, commercial transactions, and dispute resolution efforts by delivering practical, solution-oriented legal guidance.
• Leverage technology, data, and AI-enabled tools to improve legal outcomes, drive efficiency, and help shape business strategy in a fast-paced global environment.

• Experience as a practicing lawyer and active member of a state bar in good standing
• Experience in complex commercial matters
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort adopting and applying legal technology and AI tools to improve outcomes

• Proven ability to lead complex commercial transactions
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong business judgment and ability to translate legal complexity into practical guidance
• Experience engaging in regulatory or public policy-related matters
