Position Purpose and Impact: The Trade Execution Associate - Green Coffee will coordinate the booking and pricing of green coffee contracts from our network of suppliers to clients. The job will require someone who is analytical & detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be personable and maintain strong client relationships. You'll also work closely with internal commercial, settlement, credit, and accounting departments to relay pertinent information about commodity flows and ensure all aspects of the physical commodity trade are completed and comply with internal policies and procedures. 

Responsibilities

Primary duties will include:

  • Book physical trades directly with suppliers and end users of commodities. 
  • Prepare documentation for transactions such as purchase and sale agreements and ensure terms of contracts are acceptable under guidelines established by the organization. 
  • Build and maintain a close relationship with our partners such as suppliers, customers, brokers, and 3rdparty service providers. Work with suppliers and customers to forecast supply and demand. 
  • Keep track of shipments and gather documentation related to StoneX collateral (Bills of Lading, Invoices, Weight Certificates, etc.)
  • Work with the execution and settlements teams to ensure inventory, freight, shipment, and payment information gets entered into the system of record accurately and efficiently. 
  • Interact with counterparties to coordinate price fixation of green coffee contracts. Execute hedges and make sure those hedges comply with internal policies and exchange rules and are entered into the system of record timely and accurately.
  • Track and reconcile hedge positions and physical commodity positions and ensure price risk is mitigated appropriately on green coffee contracts.
  • Confirm contracts, accounts receivable and mark to market reporting being used by commercial, risk, accounting, and management departments are accurate for successful monitoring and portfolio management. 
  • Monitor trade limits, accounts receivable, and payment of accounts payable and communicate with commercial, execution, accounting, risk, and management departments daily to ensure compliance with established credit thresholds. 
  • Reconcile daily and monthly Profit and Loss (through mark to market accounting) associated with physical commodity trades and ensures economics are accounted for appropriately. 
  • Assemble required documentation like financials, tax forms, trade authorities, insurance documents, formation documents, or parent guarantees for client onboarding and credit underwriting. 
  • Evaluate and identify current or potential risks to the portfolio and help implement policies and procedures to mitigate those risks. 
  • Help develop technology and test beta versions to improve processes and efficiency for the physical commodity trade flow. 
  • This list of responsibilities may not be all-inclusive and can be expanded to include other duties or responsibilities as needed 
Qualifications

 To land this role you will need: 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Experience in commodity markets, logistics and operations 
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Detail oriented, analytical, organized, and excellent communication and documentation skills 

What makes you stand out:

  • Basic understanding of commodity futures markets and hedging 
  • Background or related experience in commodity accounting and mark to market 
  • Experience with SQL, Python and Microsoft Power BI 
  • Fluent in Portuguese

Physical requirements/Working conditions: 

  • 4 days per week onsite, 1 day per week remote
  • Maintain prompt attendance in an office or if working remotely 
  • Occasional visits to other offices, client meetings and industry events 
  • Dynamic, time-sensitive environment
  • Travel required

Hiring Salary Range $65,000 - $85,000. Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity and alignment with market data.) Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan. This compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
