Job description

Overview

Lutron is looking for a self-motivated, collaborativeCommodity Manager - Electronic Componentsto join our team out of our Global Headquarters in Coopersburg, PA. In this role, you will be a key member of our procurement team focused on electronic components, developing the strategies used to strengthen Lutron’s supply chain and maintain our position as the world-leading lighting and shade control provider. You will apply your knowledge of commodity management to Lutron’s evolving business needs through the management of executive-level supplier relationships. In this role, you will serve as a key communications link between Lutron internal customers and vendors, ensuring supplier capabilities match company needs and service levels are met to deliver on-time high quality customer solutions. 


Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute a strategic commodity plan to enhance operational flexibility and profitability
  • Supplier Management: Work collaboratively to build a world class supply chain, improve delivery rates to customers, and reduce risk through the execution of supply strategies 
  • Supplier Management: Select, manage and develop our keyelectronic device suppliers 
  • Engineering Collaboration: Collaborate with engineering leadership to ensure the commodity management strategy is aligned with their short-term and long-term needs for product development
  • Cost and Capacity Strategies: Develop and implement cost reductionand capacity strategies through value analysis, inventory management, and optimization 
  • Global Supplier Culture: Take ownership of propagating Lutron’s supplier culture globally 
  • Executive Relationships: Develop and maintain executive-level supplier relationships 
  • Benchmarking: Continuously benchmark suppliers to ensure best-in-class commodity management 
  • Problem Solving: Address emerging supply chain issues, such as logistical challenges, material supply availability, and vendor capability 
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensure suppliers are meeting our expectations for service level performance
  • New Product Support: Assist new product teams in developing relationships with new and existing suppliers to match product needs with supplier capabilities and new technologies  
  • Forecasting: Collaborate with business teams to ensure accurate forecasting of components and alignment with vendor supply

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, business, or related field
  • 8+ years of industry experience in the electronic components industry; at least 3 years’ experience in commodity management
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time
