Novelis is seeking a Global Metal Procurement Manager, Sheet Ingot & Hot Band to lead the development and execution of sourcing strategies for sheet ingot and hot band aluminum products across our global operations. In this highly visible role, you will help ensure supply continuity, optimize cost competitiveness, support sustainability objectives, and drive enterprise-wide value through strategic supplier partnerships and commercial excellence.

Reporting to the Global Metal Procurement leadership team, this role partners closely with Procurement, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance, Sustainability, Recycling, and Commercial leaders to align sourcing strategies with business priorities and production requirements. The position directly leads sourcing strategy and execution for North America while influencing and coordinating global sourcing activities across multiple regions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement global sourcing strategies for sheet ingot and hot band procurement that support business growth, supply security, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence.
  • Establish and handle strategic supplier relationships while driving performance across cost, quality, delivery, innovation, sustainability, and service reliability
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, including long-term agreements, annual contracts, and spot purchases, balancing regional requirements with enterprise-wide objectives.
  • Identify and develop alternative supply sources to improve supply resilience and reduce concentration risk.
  • Monitor aluminum, sheet ingot, hot band, freight, energy, and related market dynamics to provide actionable market intelligence and sourcing recommendations.
  • Evaluate supply chain, geopolitical, regulatory, and market risks and develop mitigation strategies that support business continuity and long-term competitiveness.
  • Partner with cross-functional team members to align sourcing decisions with operational requirements, metal planning strategies, sustainability goals, and commercial priorities.
  • Influence regional teams to implement globally aligned procurement strategies while accommodating local business needs and market conditions
  • Advance responsible sourcing initiatives and support Novelis' sustainability commitments through supplier engagement and lower-carbon sourcing opportunities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts that strengthen procurement capabilities, supplier collaboration, and overall business performance

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, metals, supply chain, commodity management, or commercial roles
  • Demonstrated experience leading supplier negotiations and handling complex procurement categories.
  • Strong commercial skill with experience evaluating financial, operational, and market-based decisions.
  • Proven ability to influence partners across functions, regions, and organizational levels without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or other advanced business degree.
  • Experience within the aluminum, metals, commodity, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
  • Knowledge of global commodity markets, procurement risk management, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives, responsible sourcing programs, or lower-carbon supply strategies.
