Position Mission
The Global Commodity Manager, Indirect is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive commodity strategies for non-production goods and services, including IT, facilities, MRO, and professional services. This role drives cost savings, mitigates risk, and enhances supplier performance. The manager oversees vendor relationships, negotiates contracts, and aligns purchasing activities with corporate objectives to reduce total cost of ownership. Reporting to the Director of Indirect Procurement, this position ensures a competitive, resilient, and high-performing supply base that supports overall business goals.
Objectives
  • Develop and execute commodity strategies for indirect spend categories.
  • Build strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and proactively manage risk.
  • Lead commercial negotiations, supplier selection, and contract development; ensure successful implementation and adherence to performance expectations.
  • Create and maintain a competitive supply environment through alternate sourcing, low-cost strategies, and proactive market intelligence.
  • Drive year-over-year productivity through cost-saving initiatives, continuous improvement, and strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align purchasing activities with business requirements and operational priorities.
  • Lead supplier relationship management for key suppliers, including performance reviews, capacity assessments, risk mitigation, and executive-level KPI and cost-reduction reporting.
  • Conduct ongoing spend and market analysis to identify sourcing opportunities and anticipate industry trends, M&A activity, and supply chain risks.
  • Provide analytical rigor and executive-ready reporting to support sourcing decisions and financial performance.
  • Provide functional leadership by prioritizing work, guiding sourcing initiatives, and ensuring alignment to commodity strategy (without direct people-management responsibility).

Requirements
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required (Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field preferred).

  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and managing strategic supplier relationships.
  • CPM or CPIM certification preferred.
