Job description

Job Title: Automotive Service Advisor
Location: Manhattan, KS
Compensation: $45, 000 - $145, 000 per year, including performance-based commission
Employment Type: Full-time
Position Overview
As an Automotive Service Advisor, you are the face of our service department and the primary link between our customers and our technicians. You will guide customers through their vehicle maintenance and repair journey, ensuring they receive expert advice and a seamless service experience.
Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Liaison: Greet customers, listen to vehicle concerns, and document service requests accurately.
  • Service Estimates: Prepare detailed repair estimates, explaining the necessity of services and maintenance based on manufacturer requirements.
  • Workflow Management: Coordinate with technicians to monitor repair progress and provide timely updates to customers.
  • Sales & Retention: Advise customers on preventive maintenance and additional needed repairs to ensure vehicle safety and performance.
  • Administrative Excellence: Manage repair orders (ROs), process payments, and verify warranty or service contract coverage.

What We're Looking For
  • Communication Skills: Ability to translate technical mechanical terms into easy-to-understand information for customers.
  • Technical Aptitude: Basic understanding of automotive systems; [e.g., ASE Certification] is a major plus.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience with dealership management systems (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK, or VAST).
  • Reliability: A valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
