Job description

Title:

Weapons, Tactics, and Training Support SME

KBR is seeking a Weapons, Tactics, and Training Support Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide on-site support to Headquarters Combat Forces Command (HQ CFC) in Colorado Springs, CO.

This role supports the Weapons and Tactics Branch in delivering high-impact warfighting outcomes across the U.S. Space Force tactical enterprise-including WEPTAC execution, tactics-cycle management, and enterprise tactics knowledge management. A strong candidate has operational weapons and tactics experience in space mission areas and is comfortable operating in a fast-paced HQ environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support service-level Weapons and Tactics Conference (WEPTAC) planning and execution, including agenda/content development, planning conferences/OPTs, leader engagements, and task management.
  • Provide direct support to the USSF tactics cycle, including coordinating stakeholders across multiple units and maintaining disciplined execution across tactics Lines of Effort (LOEs).
  • Support tactics development and assessment initiatives (e.g., Warp Core) by educating stakeholders on tactics-cycle processes and executing tactics-cycle-specific coordination requirements.
  • Support development and sustainment of enterprise tactics knowledge management capabilities (e.g., Space Wiki / TTP repository efforts) by providing weapons system and process expertise, coordination support, and test/validation activities.
  • Assist with development and refinement of tactics-related guidance and documentation to ensure clarity, senior-leader alignment, and executable direction.
  • Coordinate across HQ CFC divisions and external stakeholders to enable synchronized tactics development and training support outcomes.
  • Travel may be required for limited durations to support customer events.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • An active TS/SCI clearance required to be considered for this job (U.S. citizenship required).
  • 3+ years of weapons and tactics or training experience.
  • Strong understanding of space capabilities and operational employment considerations.
  • Experience working on a headquarters staff (e.g., USSF, USAF, Combatant Command, CFC, STARCOM, or equivalent).
  • Experience providing strategic advice, technical guidance, analysis, and recommendations.
  • Ability to multi-task and produce high-quality products in a high-tempo, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; comfortable engaging senior leaders and action officers.
  • Must be willing and able to work daily in a SCIF.

Desired:

  • BA/BS degree.
  • In-depth experience with U.S. Space Force weapon systems, platforms, and mission areas.
  • Experience with joint/service-level weapons and tactics development and/or conference execution.
  • Enterprise task management tool proficiency.

Work Environment:

  • Location: Peterson SFB, CO
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

40hrs

Basic Compensation:

$125,000 - $140,000

This range is for Colorado only.

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
