Our founders are hardcore telecommunications engineers with combined 200 + years of experience in designing, optimizing and performance engineering; for several mid - large wireless carriers internationally - that saw a need to provide low power, cost efficient sensors to collect data, create alerts, and predict needed actions. Job Description
Quality Test TechnicianÂ
ResponsibilitiesÂ
The Supply Chain Quality Management team is looking for a self-driven individual to perform hands on testing of various FiOS Equipment including Set-Top Boxes, Broadband Home Routers and Optical Network Terminals. The role will ultimately be a key stakeholder who provides recommendation for test changes required prior to new product launches and for the lifecycle of current products.Â
The person shall have the strong ability to positively impact Supply Chain metrics such as Returns and Repair, NTF, bounce rate etc. Scope is to significantly improve OEM and 3PL product quality.Â
The candidate is expected to:Â
Perform testing and full lifecycle support of FiOS products (STB, ONT, BHR)Â
Develop and/or enhance existing lab test architecture including equipment procuring & setupsÂ
Designing test measurement techniques to characterize critical test parametersÂ
Review & contribute to product test documentation and design documentationÂ
Establish lab test setups with limited informationÂ
Provide test support to replicate customer experienced failure, track and troubleshoot issues and help drive solutionsÂ
Applying best practices and contributing to the ongoing improvement of lab test proceduresÂ
Support Quality Management team on lab studies and other quality assignmentsÂ
Provide clear and concise results of all testing to management teamÂ
Manage and facilitate the movement of Verizon products that require quality control testing to be performedÂ
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.Â
Candidate skills & knowledge are expected to include the following:Â
Understand how to troubleshoot using OSI modelÂ
Experience with Home Networking and Fiber Optics productsÂ
Ability to use test equipment such as spectrum analyzer, MPEG analyzers, oscilloscope, RF signal metersÂ
Desire to succeed and to do things right the first timeÂ
Strong troubleshooting and debugging skillsÂ
Good understanding of verification test plans, test execution, results collaboration and bug reportingÂ
Basic understanding of hardware conceptsÂ
GPON & MoCA ExperienceÂ
Electronics experience (Communication Signals and Circuits, Digital Transmission Techniques)Â
Video experience (Digital Video Systems, Video Compression Technology, Video Output & Signaling)
Education & Experience:Â
Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Electronics TechnologyÂ
