Job Description Summary: The Trauma Informed Specialist is responsible for promoting a culture of service excellence at Ozark Center. The Trauma Informed Specialist drives excellence in the delivery of services and leads trauma informed care initiatives across the Center. The Trauma Informed Specialist is an employed clinical professional involved in developing, coordinating, and implementing trauma-informed practices throughout Ozark Center programs and facilities. The Trauma Informed Specialist ensures trauma-informed systems are in place throughout the organization to reduce re-traumatization, promote resilience, and increase positive outcomes for our clients. The Trauma Informed Specialist ensures that existing academic and community resources are utilized in working with clients identified as being exposed to trauma while also providing training and technical consultation to clinical staff and leadership on evidence-based practices and strategies. The Trauma Informed Specialist is responsible, to the best of their ability, for facilitating the maximum level of independent functioning of the clients served and demonstrates a warm and welcoming, empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. The Trauma Informed Specialist recognizes that the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment. The Trauma Informed Specialist will be trauma-informed and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma because of the care received. The Trauma Informed Specialist will assist the Director of Pediatric Outpatient Services in all aspects of trauma informed care and excellence in customer service. The Trauma Informed Specialist reports to the Director of Pediatric Outpatient Services.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a resource for Trauma Informed Care and professional development to all staff.
  • Serves as a liaison to schools involved in school-based treatment through Will's Place, facilitating school-based trauma-informed practices.
  • Designs, develops, and implements programs which create a positive client experience and promote service excellence including activities which reinforce the priority of excellence in service delivery and supports culture change.
  • Utilizes creative and innovative methods to ensure staff commitment to high quality service delivery standards and patient satisfaction in every aspect of the
    Ozark Center experience.
  • Develops appropriate tools to measure performance, assess accomplishments, and evaluate operations and makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal office environment.
  • Typical physical demands include prolonged sitting, frequent standing, bending, stooping, and occasional lifting.
  • Requires normal range of hearing and manual dexterity sufficient to operate keyboard, telephone, photocopier, calculator, and other office equipment as needed.
  • Requires ability to work under stressful conditions and to work irregular hours and deal with irate individuals.
  • TB test upon hire.
