Job Description
Peterson Power Systems has a need for a Rental Sales Representative based at our San Leandro, CA location.
SUMMARY
The Rental Sales Representative is responsible for renting and/or selling power generation, air compression, and temperature control equipment to customers in an assigned territory. This role is responsible for maintaining and improving relationships with existing and developing relationships with potential customers. This position requires the Rental Sale Representative to be away from the employer's place of business more than 50% of the time interacting with customers at their locations and/or job sites.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
The following reflects management's definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned.   • Rent and/or sell power generators and supporting product lines, including but not limited to temperature control equipment and air compressors, to customers in the assigned territory to meet sales objectives and revenue goals.
  • Manage the sales territory by analyzing, planning and controlling the market objectives and sales opportunities with a plan of accomplishment.
  • Build relationships with customer base and prospect new customers.
  • Maximize sales in the assigned territory by analyzing sales opportunities, solving customer problems, and assisting with sales promotions.
  • Execute a strategic sales call itinerary within the assigned territory, maintaining a strong focus on expanding existing accounts while promoting Peterson's capabilities to prospective customers.
  • Coordinate financing; assist in gathering credit information and collections on past due accounts.
  • Review invoice and rental agreements for accuracy.
  • Follow up on all equipment rentals, sales, deliveries, and invoicing to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze current and future markets and equipment needs for customer base.
  • Maintain current knowledge on all products and services for rent and/or sale by Peterson Power Rentals.
  • Prepare customer correspondence and enter customer information into database using email, word processing, and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Represent company with professional conduct.
  • Attend regularly scheduled sales meetings.
  • Regularly travel to branch locations and customer sites; Operate company or personal vehicle as needed

QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED; and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in selling generators, temperature control equipment, and/or air compressors; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. College degree in Business, Marketing, or other closely related field is highly preferred. Must have a professional demeanor, be resourceful, self-motivated, have good organizational skills.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

The annual base Salary for this position is: $36,000. This position also includes a generous commission plan. We also offer a total compensation package in addition to base salary.
