Temperature Control, Carrier Sales Representative

Reports To: Director of Temperature Control Operations

Location: Chicago, IL

Environment: Onsite

Purpose of Your Work:

As a Temperature Control, Carrier Sales Representative, working within the Multimodal Temperature Control Team, you will be responsible for identifying, sourcing, and developing strong business relationships with service providers (carriers) to achieve maximum profitability and customer satisfaction.

How You Make a Difference Everyday:

  • Provide and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers (and internal sales team as needed), ensuring maximum profitability on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly basis
  • Coordinate available customer freight with available motor carrier equipment
  • Consistently provide service and support to motor carriers in an effort to build the business relationship
  • Maintain a file of all open truck shipments and of records of trailers in assigned areas
  • Communicate with motor carriers to schedule trucks and resolve issues
  • Verify all freight charges, confirm receipt of Bill of Lading, and resolve all payables discrepancies prior to final payment to motor carrier
  • Monitor Bill of Lading discrepancies to ensure proper return of commodity is arranged, as necessary
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a hybrid schedule following completion of our training program.

Team members work onsite Monday through Friday during the initial training period. After successfully graduating from training, the schedule transitions to four days in the office and one remote workday each week.

Standard hours are 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a one-hour break. Additional flexibility may be available based on team coverage needs.

Compensation Range:

$50,000 - $60,000 + established, long-standing commission structure with high upside

This position is eligible to earn monthly commission incentives based on individual and company performance. On-Target Earnings (OTE): $100-150K+ on average for established reps.

The estimated pay range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the geographical location in which the applicant lives and/or which they will be performing the job.
