Job description

BJM Consulting, a respected telecommunications contractor headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, is seeking an experienced Tower Technician II / Top Hand to join our growing team. Established in 1995, BJM has over 30 years of industry experience and strong relationships throughout the telecommunications industry. We offer stable work, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for long-term growth.

We are especially interested in candidates with tower modification and structural installation experience who are capable of stepping into leadership roles when assigned.

What You'll Do

  • Install, maintain, repair, and retrofit wireless communication systems and tower equipment
  • Climb and work on towers, rooftops, monopoles, and related structures
  • Install antennas, feedlines, mounts, microwave equipment, ice shields, and structural components
  • Interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and technical documentation
  • Troubleshoot and inspect tower and antenna systems
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, winches, lifts, forklifts, trailers, and other equipment
  • Maintain accurate job documentation, reports, and time records
  • Travel extensively throughout the United States
  • Assist with training and mentoring less experienced crew members
  • Maintain strict compliance with OSHA and company safety standards

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of tower industry experience preferred
  • Previous experience as a Top Hand, Tower Tech II, structural steel installer, or high-line installer
  • Ability to climb towers up to 500 feet with tools and equipment
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs regularly
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to travel extensively and work irregular schedules when needed
  • Basic computer and documentation skills
  • Must pass background and drug screening

Preferred Experience

  • OSHA / Climb certifications
  • CPR / First Aid
  • RF awareness training
  • Rigging experience
  • Equipment operation experience
  • Leadership or crew lead experience
