SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Director of Transportation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Duties
1.
Demonstrates prompt and regular attendance.
2.
Attends annual DOE School Bus Driver Safety meeting.
3.
Attends all school bus training programs and courses as prescribed by the State of Georgia or the Stephens County Board of Education..
4.
Maintains orderly conduct of student passengers, remain alert to students' needs and interact appropriately..
5.
Assists with conducting emergency evacuation drills as directed by the Transportation Department.
6.
Communicates effectively and professional with school staff and public.
7.
Completes required reports legibly and accurately in the prescribed manner and on a timely basis.
8.
Communicates effectively and professionally with school staff and public.
9.
Provides maximum safety for passengers while on the bus and during loading/unloading, which could include evacuation of students from a bus in case of an emergency..
10.
Assists with medical procedures for students.
11.
Maintains a good working relationship with driver.
12.
Maintains proper storage of all student equipment.
13.
Maintains confidentiality.
14.
Works effectively and cooperatively with administrators, teachers and staff.
15.
Handles all duties in a timely and organized manner.
16.
Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds

REQUIRED DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Employee must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function of the position.
